Course Overview:
The “Perform Rigger and Signalman Task” course is aimed at providing individuals with the knowledge and skills to give correct and clear signals to guide the crane operator in the manoeuvre of a load safely to its destination.

Course Objectives:

  • Prepare to perform rigger and signalman tasks
  • Perform rigger and signalman tasks
  • Reinstate rigger and signalman work area

Course Duration:
17.5 hours (Facilitated Learning (Theory) – 16 hours, Assessment – 1.5 hours)

Mode of Instruction:
Lectures, discussions, case studies, problem- based learning, videos, e-learning resources, demonstrations, practice, modelling, sharing

Mode of Delivery: Full-time

Mode of Assessment:
At the end of the module, learners are required to complete a total of 1.5 hourd of assessment, comprising a written assessment (1 hour) and practical performance (0.5 hour).

Attendance Requirement:
100% for classroom and assessment sessions

Passing Criteria:
Learners must be deemed ‘C’ Competent in all the assessment components to pass.

Qualification:
Upon successful completion of course and assessment, learners will be awarded a Statement of Attainment (SOA) issued by the SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).

Entry Requirement

Learners must be above 18 years of age and are assumed to:

  • Have a basic knowledge of the relevant sector of work
  • Be able to listen and speak English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills (ES) level 2
  • Be able to read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to ES level 2
  • Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ES level 2; and
  • Be medically fit
