Course Overview:
The “Supervise Metal Scaffold Erection” course aims to provide learners with the knowledge and skills in supervising scaffold erection, inspection and dismantling work activities in construction and other related industries.
Course Objectives:
- Set up and erect independent tied scaffold in accordance with safe work procedures, general principles and requirements of CP14, WSH (Scaffold) Regulations and other related WSH Regulations
- Perform inspection and dismantling of independent tied scaffold in accordance with safe work procedures, general principles and requirements of *SS659, WSH(Scaffold) Regulations and other related WSH Regulations
- Perform erection, inspection and dismantling of frame scaffold in accordance with safe work procedures, general principles and requirements of *SS659, WSH (Scaffold) Regulations and other related WSH Regulations
- Perform erection, inspection and dismantling of birdcage scaffold in accordance with safe work procedures, general principles and requirements of *SS659, WSH(Scaffold) Regulations and other related WSH Regulations
- Perform erection, inspection and dismantling of tubular tower scaffold in accordance with safe work procedures, general principles and requirements of *SS659, WSH(Scaffold) Regulations and other related WSH Regulations
- Perform erection, inspection and dismantling of aluminum tower scaffold and all round system scaffold in accordance with safe work procedures, general principles and requirements of *SS659, WSH(Scaffold) Regulations and other related WSH Regulations
- Perform erection, inspection and dismantling of cuplock system scaffold in accordance with the safe work procedures, general principles and requirements of *SS659, WSH (Scaffold) Regulations and other related WSH Regulations
- Identify hazards and ensure safety of scaffold erection and
dismantling - Record work in scaffold register and inspection checklists

Course Duration:
75 hours (Theory: 28 hours, Practical: 39.5 hours, Course evaluation/debrief: 1.5 hours, Assessment: 6 hours)

Mode of Assessment:
At the end of the module, learners are required to complete a total of 6 hours of assessment, comprising a written assessment (2 hours) and practical (4 hours).
Attendance Requirement:
100% for classroom and assessment sessions
Passing Criteria:
Learners must be deemed ‘C’ Competent in all the assessment components to pass.
Qualification:
Upon successful completion of course and assessment, learners will be awarded a Statement of Attainment (SOA) issued by the SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).
Who Should Attend:
The “Supervise Metal Scaffold Erection” is a mandatory WSH training course for all workers supervising scaffolding works in construction sites and related industries.

Entry Requirement
- Successfully completed the Metal Scaffold Erection Course. Proof of entry requirement includes the submission of Certificate of Successful Completion or WSQ Certificate of Attainment (SOA).
- Employability Skills (ES) Workplace Literacy level 4 and above.
- Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ES Workplace Numeracy level 4 and above.
