Course Overview:
The “Perform Metal Scaffold Erection” course aims to provide learners with the knowledge and skills in performing metal scaffold erection and dismantling work activities in construction and related industries.
Course Objectives:
- List rules and regulations to ensure safety in erecting scaffold system
- Identify, select, set up and perform pre-checking of scaffolding system in accordance with safe work practices, general principles and requirements of SS659, WSH(Scaffold) Regulations and other related WSH Regulations
- Perform erection and dismantling frame scaffold in accordance with in accordance with safe work procedures, general principles and requirements of SS659, WSH(Scaffold) Regulations and other related WSH Regulations
- Perform erection and dismantling tubular independent tied scaffold in accordance with safe work procedures, general principles and requirements of SS659, WSH(Scaffold) Regulations and other related WSH Regulations
- Perform erection and dismantling tower scaffold in accordance with in accordance with safe work procedures, general principles and requirements of SS659, WSH(Scaffold) Regulations and other related WSH Regulations
- Perform erection and dismantling modular scaffold in accordance with in accordance with safe work procedures, general principles and requirements of SS659, WSH(Scaffold) Regulations and other related WSH Regulations
- Perform housekeeping and maintain record keeping of scaffold system in accordance with safe work practices and regulatory requirement

38 hours (Facilitated Learning (Theory: 8 hours Practical: 22 hours) – 30 hours, Assessment – 8 hours)

Mode of Assessment:
At the end of the module, learners are required to complete a total of 8 hours of assessment, comprising a written assessment (1 hour) and practical (7 hours).
Attendance Requirement:
100% for classroom and assessment sessions
Passing Criteria:
Learners must be deemed ‘C’ Competent in all the assessment components to pass.
Qualification:
Upon successful completion of course and assessment, learners will be awarded a Statement of Attainment (SOA) issued by the SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).
Who Should Attend:
The “Perform Metal Scaffold Erection” is a mandatory WSH training course for all workers working in construction sites and related industries.

- CLAIM WITH UTAP SUPPORT : Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP): UTAP is a training benefit provided to NTUC Union Members with the objective of encouraging them to upgrade with skills training by minimizing training costs. If you are an NTUC Union Member, you can get 50% funding (capped at $500 per year) under the Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP). For more information about UTAP, please visit this link.UTAP funding for NTUC Union Members is capped at $250 for 39 years and below and at $500 for 40 years and above.
UTAP support amount to be paid to training provider first and claimed after end of class by learner. SKILL FUTURE FUNDING:

Do note that the training grants disbursement criteria for Self-Sponsored learners are;- Trainee has not obtained course fee fundings previously (same course title/course reference code/skills code)
- Course fees have been fully paid by trainees themselves;
- Trainee met 75% attendance requirement; and
- Trainee passed assessments (where applicable)
